In a move to amplify user experience and digital entertainment access, Tune Talk today announced that, all Epik35+ subscribers will enjoy full access to both Games and Drama on the Tune Talk App — a feature previously exclusive to Epik50+ users for drama content.
With this expansion, Tune Talk is opening its most popular in-app entertainment experiences to an even broader user base, continuing its commitment to adding real lifestyle value to its mobile plans.
“We’re making entertainment accessible to more of our users,” said Gurtaj Singh Padda, Executive Director and CEO of Tune Talk. “Epik35+ now brings you not just gaming but also streaming drama — because we believe every ringgit should come with real rewards.”
App Usage Doubles — and Upgrades Spike 6x
Since the launch of Games & Drama on 21 May, the Tune Talk App has seen explosive engagement:
- 107,611 unique users on the platform
- 1.4 million minutes of content consumed
- App sessions doubled from 400,000 to 800,000 per day
- 65% engagement in drama, 34% in games
This shift in behavior breaks away from typical telco app patterns, which are traditionally categorized as utility apps with session durations averaging just 2 to 4 minutes and only a handful of uses per month, according to industry benchmarks reported by First Page Sage and Contentsquare. By contrast, Tune Talk users now spend an average of 36 minutes in-app, marking a dramatic shift from transactional to entertainment-based utility.
Churn Drops, Subscribers Stay — and Epik Upgrades Skyrocket
Alongside this engagement, the telco recorded its highest net subscriber gain of 2025 in May — 39,002 new users, coinciding with a drop in churn from 83% to 73%.
“This isn’t just stickier UX — it’s strategic retention,” Gurtaj added. “People who use Games & Drama stay longer, spend more time, and move up to better plans.”
In just 28 days, 1,414 users upgraded to Epik50+, with current projections forecasting a 6X increase to over 8,000 premium plan upgrades by the end of the year — a clear indicator of how digital content is becoming a real growth engine for Tune Talk.
